FOCUS MEDIA

Focus Media Group became the first corporation in the world to establish the elevator advertising communication model.

In 2003, Focus Media launched the world's first LCD Elevator Advertising Display and introduced this "Innovation of the New Era" into the "Blue Ocean" market.

In the early 2000s, China's advertising industry faced major challenges: traditional media channels (TV, print) were saturated with high costs, while the target audience - urban income earners - were increasingly scattered. Jiang Nanchun (Founder of Focus Media) discovered "dead time" in elevator waiting areas - short periods where users were completely focused. From this difference in urban living habits, he foresaw LCD technology and timing (reasonable price, suitable size), Focus Media pioneered direct installation of LCD advertising displays in elevators of office buildings, shopping centers, and residential complexes. This was the world's first digital elevator advertising display, creating a breakthrough by "displaying attention" in the 30-second to 2-minute mandatory waiting moments, precisely reaching valuable customer groups.

1ST GENERATION DIGITAL POSTER (DIGITAL FRAME)

Specialized device serving the world's first image playback feature.

  • Standard XGA resolution: 1600 x 1200
  • Can play both images and audio

The period 2005-2007 witnessed a global explosion of content digitization, with the proliferation of digital screens, video sharing platforms, and especially LCD display technology. In this context, businesses increasingly recognized the need for real-time, rapid, and flexible information and advertising updates. Meanwhile, thanks to technological advances and mass production, the cost of producing digital devices, especially small-sized displays, had decreased significantly, making digital signage systems (including digital displays like Digital Frame) feasible and economically superior to traditional periodic print advertising, which was expensive in terms of materials, printing, and distribution. It was in this favorable context that Focus Media pioneered the successful deployment of a nationwide Digital Frame advertising network across China starting in 2007.

In 2023, Focus Media officially deployed two latest device lines in the Vietnamese market: LCD 5.0 and Digital Frame 4.0. Unlike previous generations, these two device lines are designed as monolithic displays, no longer separated into multiple display areas. The seamless structure helps optimize projection efficiency while creating a complete, direct, and less distracting visual experience. In the information explosion era, consumers are increasingly easily distracted and difficult to remember advertising content. The complete screen design helps enhance visual focus, retain customer attention longer, and increase the ability to receive messages seamlessly without interruption. Additionally, the new devices also meet modern communication standards: energy saving, stable operation, and environmental friendliness – suitable for brands' post-COVID-19 clean advertising industry restructuring trend.
